ISO 9001: 2000 Registration:
Sunburst Electronics is pleased to announce the successful completion and
certification to the ISO 9001:2000 Quality standard through QMI (Quality Management Institute).
The original registration to ISO 9001 was accomplished on July 10, 2002.

To meet the high standards demanded by ISO, training is a critical part of all job functions at Sunburst. All Sunburst employees obtain job-specific certifications through a rigorous training program. Some of the training programs include Solder (conducted by an IPC certified trainer), ESD and Component Identification, Blueprint Reading, Wire Termination, Process/Machine-Specific training, Calibration and Inspection.
Training is based on a number of specifications, including IPC-A-600, IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, J-STD-001B for Quality and Workmanship; MIL-I-45208 and MIL-STD-105 for Inspection; DOD-STD-1686 for ESD; and MIL-STD-45662 for Calibration.
Managers obtain professional training, such as "Manufacturer’s Boot Camp" conducted by ACI of Philadelphia; "ISO Lead Audit Training" by QMI and "Certified Purchase Manager" by ISM.
A stringent Document Control System is in place to assure the latest information is available on the floor.
All inspection and test failures are documented and logged in a data base. This is the main vehicle used for continuous improvement, including new or refresher Training programs. Corrective and Preventative Actions are subject to management review. Supplier Files exist for all vendors, and are used to rate vendors.
Workmanship meets IPC-610 Class II and is warranted for 1 year.
